With this whisky series, we have created a foothold.
SÆSON is a snapshot of the present. A place from which we look ahead, but also a place where we look back to our roots. Back when it all began. When the dream of one day holding a complete, well-crafted whisky first took shape.
SÆSON is the taste of the dreams, the passion, and the craftsmanship we have carried with us through time.
It is the taste of Fary Lochan.

Our thoughts have always revolved around creating a series of whiskies. Back in the 2000s, when Fary Lochan was born, we called our whisky “The 4 Seasons”.
At the time, there were two unpeated variants:
● The mild and light “Summer”
● The smooth and sweet “Autumn”
And two with nettle smoke:
● The boldest and smokiest “Winter”
● The slightly gentler and milder “Spring”
But over time, the seasons blurred, and 15 years later they have become one long season. Now the SÆSON series.

We have recreated the craftsmanship and process behind SÆSON in the illustration on the label. Here you can follow the whisky’s journey through nature—from raw barley in the fields, to distillation in the copper still, to maturation in oak casks—finally ending as a flavourful dram in the glass of the friendly, bearded man.
The very first whisky Fary Lochan released in September 2013 was “Autumn”. It was composed of 3–4 bourbon casks and a single used sherry cask, and it was bottled at around 47–48%. It was mild and easy to drink—not very old, but old enough. And it tasted exactly the way we wanted it to taste.
Now we fast-forward 10 years. To today, where we present the SÆSON series.

SÆSON 1 is for both experienced and less experienced whisky palates. It is light and mild, yet at the same time bold and oily in character. It is a single malt whisky best enjoyed in good company, and it is not too precious to play a (leading) role in classic cocktails.
Bartenders call it a flavourful whisky made for cocktails.
Old Fashioned, Manhattan, Whisky Sour. There is a very special atmosphere around the classics, which bring whisky into play with other ingredients. SÆSON gives your cocktail depth and can bring out complex flavour nuances, while also adding sweetness and body alongside other ingredients.
It tastes great. Both in a mix and on its own.
SÆSON 2 is a deliciously smooth and rounded whisky. It suits anyone who enjoys a good whisky in the glass.
Because in this SÆSON, we have added Fary Lochan’s very special signature: nettle smoke. Together with the honey-like sweetness, you get a lightly smoky dryness—and we are the only ones in the world who create it.
It tastes great. On its own in the glass, but best enjoyed in good company.

It is a secret. It may not be quite old enough to go out to bars at night, but old enough to be served at the bar—that we promise.
Age does not matter for SÆSON. It always has the same taste.
It is a whisky composed of 3–5 casks in a combination that ensures we can always produce the same great taste. So if you end up going completely crazy for the taste of SÆSON 2 or develop the perfect cocktail with SÆSON 1, you can be sure it tastes exactly as you remember it.
We are never out of SÆSON.

5 cl Fary Lochan SÆSON 1
3 cl Vermouth
A dash of Angustora Bitter
Stir with lots of ice
Serve straight up in a nice glass (Nick Norra for example)
Garnish with orange (or lemon) zest
