Description
THE CASK:
The cask is made by J.L. Rodriguez at his “toneleria” in southern Spain. It is a 9-litre cask that has held Pedro Ximenez (PX) sherry. A beautiful wooden stand is included, so your fine whisky cask can be displayed in your home bar. The cask is yours, so you take it home after bottling! If you would like to have your own name on the cask, you are welcome to visit us and “sign” the cask—either when we fill it, or whenever it suits you… Contact us to arrange this.
THE WHISKY:
The whisky we fill into the cask is an unpeated variant that has already been matured for 4 years and 7 months in a 2nd fill bourbon quarter cask (filled on 26 August 2021). This means you already have a finished, proper whisky from day 1. However, you can look forward to the result of maturation in the sherry cask, which creates a delicious whisky with plenty of sweetness and character. The 9 litres of whisky we fill into your cask is at full cask strength (62.24%). As a rule, it will also be bottled at full cask strength when you wish.
STORAGE:
Fary Lochan stores the cask for you in the cellar, where the right conditions for optimal maturation are present. The cask is therefore also insured by Fary Lochan during maturation. If the cask is lost due to fire, theft, or other malicious misfortune, we offer replacement of the cask in the form of a new cask.

MATURATION:
Maturation of the whisky happens considerably faster in such a small 9-litre cask compared to the larger 200-litre bourbon casks we normally use. You can therefore expect your whisky to take on both colour and flavour from your new 9-litre cask more quickly. This means the waiting time does not have to feel too daunting and long before you can have your whisky bottled in our 50 cl whisky bottles. Then it is simply a matter of finding the right moment to open and enjoy your very own whisky from your very own whisky cask.
We recommend a maturation time of approx. 6–12 months for the most optimal final result.
DUTY & VAT:
Both Danish spirits duty and Danish VAT are included in the price.
LABELS & BOTTLING:
We use our own labels for the bottles. They are specially designed specifically for private casks/cask shares, and can be personalised to suit your bottles. We agree this at bottling.
Bottling is included in the price.
COLLECTION/SHIPPING:
The bottles and the empty cask can be collected at the distillery after bottling.
It is also possible to have the bottles/cask shipped within Denmark for a fee.
OTHER:
Your order confirmation serves as your proof of ownership for the cask, so please keep it.
